Earthtree Architecture is an architecture practice servicing the mid north coast of NSW. Our focus at Earthtree is on sustainable design. We believe that good design has the potential to increase comfort and amenity for occupants while also integrating into the wider environment and landscape. We believe that through good design it is possible to have a positive impact on the environment. We are not afraid to simplify an existing design to meet the objectives instead of always designing from scratch.
We offer full architectural services and have the skills and capacity to be involved from the sketch and ideas stage through to obtaining approvals, full working drawings, interior fit out drawings and working with a builder to bring the building to fruition. Earthtree architecture is capable of working within budgets from the smallest interventions up to multiple millions. Previous to starting Earthtree Architecture, David worked at two Sydney based practices focusing on high end residential work, adaptive reuse and commercial spaces.
David O’Sullivan started Earthtree Architecture when he finally moved with his wife back to the area that she grew up. We are based in Kalang, just a few kilometres from Bellingen, on a property of wet sclerophyll rainforests that connects with the Kalang River. Our property will be a lifelong work in progress with plans for bush regeneration, permaculture and edible gardens as well as habitat creation.
Outside of work David is a wildlife carer with WIRES, looking after orphaned and injured wallabies preparing them for realise. He is loving exploring the trails and running routes around Bellingen, Kalang and Urunga.
David O’Sullivan is a registered Architect, NSW registration no. 11584 and a member of the Australian Institute of Architects.
